Elon musk is Creating Twitter 2.0
When Elon musk bought Twitter internet went crazy and people started saying Twitter was going to die because Elon musk doesn’t know what he was doing.
But Elon musk had some big plans for Twitter. Long back Elon musk had X.com (that was merged with Paypal). but now Elon might use the X.com vision in his Twitter 2.0
Elon musk posted lots of tweets about his vision on his new Twitter. let's see what are they.
Cancel the Cancel Culture
Twitter was always famous for banning people from its platform when they did something wrong.
In my opinion, people should not get banned permanently because they said something wrong and might be regretting later. We are human and we make mistakes.
After buying Twitter, Elon musk rolled back all the bans and he sometimes posts polls to ask people whether Twitter should remove bans on some specific person.
For example, a few weeks ago he posted a poll to bring back Trump on Twitter and people said Yes. Now trump Twitter account is not banned anymore.
New Monetizing Model
Earlier Twitter’s only way to make money was advertising. The advertising business is already very competitive considering big players like Google and Facebook. but relying only on ads for money is not reliable for Twitter.
After Elon musk bought Twitter, he announced that Twitter will charge $8 for verified accounts per month.
If this is successful then twitter will have even more stable recurring income because no one will want to remove their verified status on Twitter. (consider all the celebrities, companies, and govt officials)
Also, Elon musk is pushing on creative content on Twitter instead of boring content. Ads should not be boring but they should be entertaining too.
There might be also some plans to incentivize the content creators on Twitter so Twitter can get more interesting content.
No More Scam Bots
Crypto scam bots are a very big problem on Twitter, You can open your DMs and will definitely see many Crypto Bots messages about some scams with links. These bots are also tweeting actively on most of the tweets.
Elon musk said that his first priority is to remove all the bots. I am not sure how he will do it but let's see if he can get rid of all the bots on Twitter.
Content Creator-friendly Platform
Currently content on Twitter is free. that means if you post anything on Twitter.
Then Twitter will sell ads on your content but you won’t get anything in return. That might change as well.
Elon musk in a conversation with Mr. Beast on Twitter told that this will change in the future. Now Twitter will also provide a platform for content creators just like Youtube.
Bringing back Vine?
Vine was ahead of its time. If you see every platform has short video content and that is what Twitter also needs.
Twitter already has the short text content, now the only thing they need is short videos as well.
Eon musk said In a tweet that he is going to bring vine as well. let's see how it goes.
If Twitter has short video content just like Tiktok and youtube shorts then engagement on Twitter might grow very quickly.
Long tweets
Currently, when you need to post a long tweet what do you do?
You can create that long note on some notepad and then take a screenshot and tweet it (not a very efficient process).
But now it's going to change, Twitter is going to support long format posts where you will be able to write a long blog post as well.
We will see how it goes with current Twitter.
Web3 on Twitter
Currently, Twitter does not have any support for web3, this might also change. twitter can also have NFTs, Payments via crypto along with fiat in the future.
Will twitter support Dogecoin payment as well :P considering how much Elon musk loves Dogecoin. but only time will tell what is web3 that is going to happen on Twitter.

Above were some of the platform changes that Elon musk might do as part of Twitter 2.0 but there were several changes in Internal Twitter as well.

Firing
Elon musk fired more than half of Twitter just after buying Twitter including top management. Now there is only 1 twitter boss.
Some might argue about the firing but if you consider Elon musk's situation as well, he paid a huge amount already for Twitter, and reducing costs can be helpful for twitter at this time considering all the backlash from the big advertising clients.
Strict Work hours
Before Elon musk bought Twitter, the company has flexible options for employees such as no work timings, work from home options.
But now everything is changing fast. Elon musk removed work from home policy and not all employees should come to the office. and not only that but they also need to work long hours in the office or can get fired.
There are several other changes such as strict performance reviews. And if you want to continue working on Twitter you have to be a Hardcore engineer (whatever that means).
So yeah twitter is changing fast and who knows maybe in the future, Twitter might become the Wechat of the US. only time will tell that.
